Everyday makeup comes in a variety of styles, colors, and shapes. That’s the beauty of its simplicity: as you apply it every day to complement your eyes and outfits, you adjust it to your preferences. Whether you opt for a subtle, natural look or a bold, dramatic one, everyday makeup empowers you to express your individuality that goes along with your personal style with confidence.

Today, I am excited to share with you a step-by-step guide on achieving a simple yet stunning everyday makeup look that complements all eye shapes and colors. This particular technique is not only easy to follow, but it also saves you precious time! So, without further ado, let's dive into the process and unlock the secrets behind this transformative makeup routine. Prepare to embrace your natural features while effortlessly exuding confidence and charm.

How to Do Basic Eye Makeup for Beginners?

For this particular eye look, I used only a few basic, matte eyeshadow colors in neutral colors. These are warm enough to emphasize amber and brown eyes, while not drawing too much attention, which makes them a perfect choice for the day to day occasions. However, for the bottom lash line, I used a mixture of brick brown color and neutral beige ( merely to blend it out beautifully ). If you prefect any other colors from a neutral everyday eyeshadow palette, please feel free to use them. So, let’s begin!

Step 1: Start with Eyebrows

Start your eye look by filling in your eyebrows. For daily makeup, your eyebrows shouldn't be too defined or dark, just a natural, powder eyebrow look is a great choice. Fill in the shape of your brows with matte eyebrow powder and set them with clear wax or gel.

Step 2: Prep and Prime

Follow the first step by prepping your eyelids with a small amount of eye primer. This will create a smooth canvas for your eyeshadow and help it last longer throughout the day. Apply the product with your ring finger and gently blend it into the skin.

Take a matte eyeshadow in a neutral shade that matches your skin tone and apply it all over your eyelids. This will act as a base and help to even out any discoloration on your eyelids.

Step 3: Define Eye Crease

Now it is time to define your eye crease with a warm brown and matte eyeshadow. This step is especially important for hooded or small eyelids, as it helps to create an illusion of a more open eye.  Using a fluffy blending brush, apply this shade to the crease of your eyelids and blend it out in windshield wiper motions.

Step 4. Add Highlighter

After flawlessly blending the crease, it's time to elevate your eye makeup by adding matte or slightly shimmering highlights. For this step, I recommend using a small, flat eyeshadow brush that effortlessly collects the perfect amount of pigment. Gently apply a highlighter shade to the brow bone, just below the arch, to create a lifted effect

Step 5: Eyelid Shade

Select a matte eyeshadow in a complementary shade to your transition color. Apply it to the center of your eyelids, focusing on the area between the lash line and the crease. Use a flat eyeshadow brush for precise application and build up the intensity gradually. For the inner corners of your eyes apply matte brown kajal and blend it with the matching eyeshadow. On the bottom lashline add a pop of neutral, warm color like brick brown.

Step 6: Finish the look

Complete your everyday matte eye makeup look by applying a coat of mascara to your lashes. Wiggle the wand from the roots to the tips for maximum volume and length. Add a white kajal to your waterline to make your eyes appear bigger and awaken your look.

Let's summarize...

Finally, use a lightweight, light-to-medium coverage foundation to complete your everyday makeup look. I often opt for a dewy BB cream and a very light coat of blot powder by MAC. The beauty of this style lies in its versatility and the ability to create a polished and refined appearance suitable for any occasion. By switching shades and lip colors, you can use this basic look for any type of occasion. Don't be afraid to play with different matte eyeshadow shades, adjust the intensity, or add subtle shimmer for a hint of glamour.

So, that's all for today! Whether it's a casual day at the office or a special evening event, your everyday matte eye makeup will become your go-to choice, ensuring you feel confident, empowered, and ready to conquer the world with a touch of elegance.

Lots of love,
Liz
